ONAG

On Axis Guiding

What is an ONAG?

Improved Accuracy with NIR Guiding

By utilizing near-infrared (NIR) light for guiding, the ONAG takes advantage of the fact that digital detectors in autoguiders are sensitive to NIR light. Guiding in NIR reduces the effects of atmospheric turbulence and improves active tracking performance, resulting in better auto-guiding accuracy.

Wide Field of View

The ONAG features an integrated X/Y stage that provides a wide FOV for selecting guide stars, allowing for both on-axis and off-axis operations. This enables easy exploration of a large area of the telescope focal plane to find suitable guide stars, unlike most off-axis guiding systems.

Real-time Auto-Focus

The ONAG introduces our patented technology SharpLock that enables true real-time auto-focus operations (SkyGuard product). With SkyGuard the telescope remains at the best focus while imaging, eliminating the need for periodic re-focusing and saving valuable time.

Versatile and High-Quality Design

The ONAG stands out with its exceptional engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. With its well-designed and precisely constructed dichroic beam splitter (DBS), this device ensures reliable and high-quality performance. Its lightweight design further adds to its versatility, making it compatible with a wide range of setups and systems.

Find the Right Variant

ONAG XM

Full Frame On-Axis Guider

The ONAG XM is the full frame variant of our ON Axis Guider product line. Its imager port supports imaging cameras with chip diagonals up to 50mm, while its guider port supports APS_C chips (up to 28mm in diagonal) for remote operations providing a very large FOV for guiding at once. Therefore with a large guider diagonal there is no need to rotate or use the ONAG integrated X/Y stage for finding a suitable guide star. The ONAG XM features a heavy duty helical focuser for the guider. The ONAG XM Lambda version allows for precise exo-planet and photometric work as well.

ONAG SC

On-Axis Guider for APS-C

Our new ONAG® SC, designed for APS-C chips (up to 28mm diagonal), introduces a compact and robust X/Y stage, along with a highly anticipated helical focuser for your guiding camera—now a standard feature across all our ONAG products. While the ONAG SC retains the exceptional capabilities and specifications of our award-winning standard ONAG (now discontinued), it represents a refined and innovative step forward for your imaging needs.
